Seven years ago I made a decision to expand my family. At the time, Charlie was a seven week old Schnauzer puppy when I picked her up in San Antonio, Texas. She seemed excited about her first road trip, our drive home to Houston. But as soon as the car door closed shut and she realized that she was leaving her Mom and siblings, she began to whimper. I scooped her into my lap, and our love for each other started at that moment.
Before Charlie came into my life, I evaluated many dog day care options. My criteria was
• a family run business, with operators who love dogs and have compassionate hearts
• a VERY clean facility, where dog's were able to roam freely and not be caged
• a system that ensured dogs were healthy and vaccinated
• individuals who would help raise Charlie from day one since I had a full time career
Jackson's Place met all of my expectations and more. Deb and "grandma" met Charlie and me at 6 a.m. on Charlie's first day at school back in 2004, and it's been a love fest ever since! harlie, and now Charlie's brother, Cosmo, still vacation at Jackson's Place and both can't get through the front door of Jackson's Place fast enough to see Deb and grandma Carol! Jackson's Place is more than a dog care facility. It's a family that loves animals who are also running a great business, that takes a genuine interest in our beloved four legged (most times!) kids, that participates in the Houston community and tries to make it a better place. Deb and Carol and company, you folks are fabulous. Thank you for loving Charlie and Cosmo, and for taking such great care of them when they need it.

"When I first looked for a doggie day care facility, I visited more than ten different businesses close to downtown. For the most part, every place I visited appeared competent. But when I walked into Jackson's Place, I immediately realized it was the place for us. It felt like walking into someone's home, due to the overall atmosphere and the people. The real "stamp of approval" came on Honey's second day, when she danced up the front steps and into the living room to greet Deb. My husband and I describe Honey's reaction as 'she never looks back'."

Our "Little Guy", Sam started going to Jackson Place when he was six months old - he is now five. Jackson Place is a second home to Sam. Jackson Place is the only place I use for day care and boarding. Sam loves it!!

I was extremely lucky to find Jackson Place. This place is wonderful and all the employees are so nice and helpful. Bentley, my Yorkie starts getting excited about a mile from the place, whining, turning in circles as he knows where he is going . The minute I stop the car he is jumping to get out. Probably do not need his leash as he just runs for the door. I would highly recommend Jackson Place. Debbie and the others love the animals as if they are their own. Thanks everyone.

My dogs and I love Jackson's Place! My younger dogs (Snoopy and Melvin) love to run and play with all their friends. And my older dog Timber who has health problems gets special love and attention from Debbie and her great team! When he got really ill while in their care, they went well above and beyond to get him to the vet and make sure he was okay. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Deb and her team were like a surrogate family to our lab Denver. She was so well cared for and loved at Jackson's. It truly was a home away from home for her. I'm sad we moved away!

When we arrive in the morning at Jackson's Place, our dachshund pulls us to the front door to make sure he gets in as fast as possible. He loves going there, and we are thrilled to have a good "home away from home" for him.

"Jackson's place is a gem! I wouldn't trust anywhere else with my baby Indie. Its a a home away from home for her and she runs in circles with excitement before we can get in the door! The crew there are so kind hearted and wonderful. I can't thank my friends there enough for all that they do! "

My pug Blanche has been going to Jackson's Place for a year and a half. She loves it so much and is always so excited on those mornings we get in the car to go. At night, she is calm and relaxed and happy. Deb & her Mom take such good care of her, whether she's going to day care or boarding for a night or two. I love Jackson's Place!!

I just want you to know how much I appreciate the good care and concern that you and Carol and staff give to Arliss. It means a great deal to me to not have to worry about him and whether or not he's happy. I can tell when I drop him off that he likes it there. I think you do a great job and I am sooo happy that I ran into you that day in the park. Thanks so much for the excellent service and loving care that you give my boy. Makes my life a little easier knowing that he's is good hands.

This place is wonderful and I have yet to find a better place in Houston. Seriously! I drive all the way from Heights (in tons of traffic) to drop my dog off to have some interaction with the other dogs. The owner is very particular when it comes to the review process but it makes perfect sense (especially since its cage free). Price is high but VERY worth it (seems they are all about the same price these days). If you have physically walked into other care centers, this place is a gem in comparison. I like taking my dog here because it is cage free and always clean and home feeling. My family makes fun of me because I tell them about the things they do at Jacksons Place (naptime, playtime outside...I/they treat him like he is my baby..exactly like I want). Thats just my 2 cents...
The service and care that is given by the staff of jacksons place is tremendous. The dogs here do go through a trial run which who in there right mind would complain about that. Do you not want your pet safe? I do. Leaving your dog here. What if they didnt? how would you feel if sweet little princess was attacked by a faroucious dog names cujo? There are reasons why aggresive dogs are not allowed. as well as pets that can not get along with others. just like children who have bad behavior! Do any of you really account for the stress thats given by having 25 - 30 dogs barking and playing or whining all day long from 6am to 6pm. I would really love to watch those of you who leave bad comments on here to try that for a day. I am certain you could go crazy so it is not a unstressful job but it is a GIVING and loving job. there is so much animal abuse given by so many owners you should be pleased to have someone you can go to that is not going to discipline your pet like you would. but you act out of anger and being a professional the employees of jacksons place have to act as a Rational human. For all you bad mouthers out there.. get over yourself. This is one out there that could be a better sitter for your pets that the people at jacksons place.

Where else can a career mama leave her little boy with four paws and a waggy tail all day and feel secure that he's loved and entertained? The crew and owner of Jackson's place make sure that my puppy has friends his size to play and cuddle with, that he is taken out and walked, that there are plenty of toys to chew and tug, that he has a regular snack and nap time, and that there are lots of kisses coming his way. I am very particular about my boy and am thrilled that he has Jackson's. Don't hesitate to entrust these folks with your fur-friend. Ask to meet Boris, the new labradoodle, who is a doll baby! Oh, there are many "regular" pups that become pals, so stick around to see them play...they are hilarious. Hip, hip hooray for Jackson's Place!
I love, love, LOVE this place and so does my dog!
I usually end up taking my dog here about once every two weeks, and the staff here has always been incredible. They know my dog by name, and when we get out of the car she makes a beeline for the door. She is thrilled to be there.
The daycare is located in a cute little house in Montrose near the Menil, and is separated into small and large dog areas. My little dog isn't too easily intimidated by the big ones, but she prefers to play with pups her own size.
They email you invoices that you can pay online as soon as you drop your dog off, which makes pick up go a lot more smoothly, as you aren't having to stand around and pay. One time, PayPal had a hiccup and charged me twice (although I didn't realize it), and when I came in to pick up my dog, the owner was the one who notified me of the problem and offered me a refund of the extra or a credit ( I took the credit).
Shots are required and all dogs have to pass a temperament test to get in, but every time I have peeked in, it looks like everyone is playing together beautifully.

LOVE the Jackson's Place. My dogs go twice a month because they need the socializing. They are almost never around other dogs and both tend to be a bit iffy around those of their own species. After one too many trips to the dog park where they stood around looking bored or actively ran and hid, I thought...hmmmmm maybe there's another way.
So every other Monday I cart them over to Jackson's Place, located in an adorable bungalow near the museum district. The owners have greeted them by name since the second visit and are very sweet with them. The place is always very clean and pleasant for a human visitor, and even when I've arrived early or at odd times I can peek in on groups of small romping dogs having a good time together. Mine were... actually joining in too!
More positives- they do request proof of shots, but it's easy enough to have your vet fax that info over. They focus on small dogs, which is nice for mine, who are easily intimidated.* And they send bills to your email so you can either pay via their website or do it via credit card d in person. (I like the former, as it means no juggling leashes and a credit card at the same time.)
They also sell amazing looking dog treats here- I mean cookies and snacks that look so good I'd nibble on one if nobody was looking (and they're made of non-scary things like carob, peanut butter, and wheat flour.)
I love that they take photos of their "guests" and post them on the website too. And that they do crate-free boarding where the dogs can just romp, lie on the couch, and watch TV. It's a bit too expensive even for me, but I love that it's there :)
*I don't know if they do big dogs- check the website and/or call them?

My dog, Tommy, absolutely loves Jackson's Place. He is a Siberian Husky, a very high-energy breed that needs to be busy throughout the day. Before I found Jackson's Place, I left Tommy at home when I went to work, and he always got into trouble by chewing up books, furniture or whatever else he could get his paws on. Now, he spends his days playing with his doggie friends and burning up all that energy. He can't wait to get there in the morning, howling and pacing around the back of the car when we get close. When I pick Tommy up in the afternoon, he is happy and comfortably worn out.
Deb Sullivan and her entire staff are true dog people. They love big dogs, little dogs and all sizes in between. Tommy gets great care and has a blast every single day. He loves Jackson's Place and so do I. They're the best!

My little "son", a Brussels Griffon named Boecker, met Debbie and Grandma Carole at Jackson's Place when he was 16 weeks old. He enrolled in daily daycare and is now 5 years old and, I might add, the honorary Mayor of Jackson's. I don't know what I would do without their kindness, great care, and expert service. Mayor Boecker is safe and happy at his home away from home. Thank goodness for Jackson's Place!

Boudin loves going to Jackson's Place! I began taking him there one day a week because he's a very social and friendly sort, and seemed lonesome during the day. He loves being there with his friends and always sleeps very well when we get home because he's played so hard during the day! I feel very confident leaving him at Jackson's Place because the staff truly love him and are always very kind and caretaking of him. He's stayed there overnight several times; I really trust the staff to take care of and safely watch over my sweet Boudin. We'll always use their services!

We love Jackson's Place because Tyson (our 2-year old Vizsla) loves it. We know he loves it because every time we drop him off, he's dragging us to get inside!! Plus, he is super tired when we pick him up, which makes us very happy : )

One of the best features of Jackson's Place is that the dogs are cared for in an environment that is just like home. My two dogs are not confined to kennels and they get plenty of attention and love when they are boarded. In fact, they are spoiled rotten! We love Jackson's Place!

Remi, my 65 lbs. English bulldog, knows when its Wednesday. TGIW, means Jackson's Place. Deb and everyone at Jackson's Place treat Remi like a king. He gets belly rubs, treats, and has his only special name Tater. Remi lives for Wednesdays.

GG (Gypsy Gal) loves staying at Jackson's place! I was relieved for her to be in a place where she did not have to be in a cage, and had the freedom to live in a cozy home environment while I was traveling for 7 days. She also loves to play with the other dogs at Jackson's place during her play days. GG and I both are appreciative of the love of her caregivers. Thank you Deb and all!
